Description:

Accessories or adornments made from hemp are called hemp jewelry.

How it’s Made:

Hemp jewelry uses hemp twine as the main material and glass, wood, bones, rocks or gems.(1)

Advantages:

Hemp jewelry is made from the strong fibers of a hemp plant which makes it super durable for jewelry making.(2)

Disadvantages:

Hemp tends to trap moisture within the core that will cause rotting and breakage.(3)

History:

Over 5000 years ago, Egyptians where the first to used hemp to craft wedding rings.(4)

Looking to the Future:

Industrial hemp is a very versatile product with many potential uses thus the policy of hemp cultivation is expected to change at the state and federal levels over the coming years.(5)
