Hemp is a reliable diapering fabric because of its durability and absorbency. Remnant of hemp fabric dated back to 8,000 BC was found by archaeologists in Iran and Iraq. Emperor Shen Nung of China during the 28th century BC taught his people to cultivate hemp for fabric production.(4)
