Hemp was utilized for so many purposes including food in the U.S. One example is Hemp oil, it was intended for salad dressing.
How it’s Made:
Hemp oil is extracted by pressing the seeds, flowers and leaves of a hemp plant. Hemp oil is then incorporated in food as dressing, sauce or cooking in all forms.(1)
Hemp being a provider of good fats, also provides minerals such as calcium, phosphorus and magnesium that helps improves the immune system.(2)
Too much consumption of hemp seed oil on food may lead to digestive upset or loosened stools.(3)
Records show that in 1000 BCE China, hemp seeds were served in cereal dishes.(4)
Looking to the Future:
Further research has been done after passing the US’s 2018 Farm Bill regarding the legalization of hemp production. With this, it is expected that hemp-based products are going to hit the market in the future.(5)
