Disadvantages:
Hemp rope’s life span is around five years. Rotting and breakage are the results if hemp ropes are dried on the outside and tend to trap moisture within the core of the rope.(3)
History:
Hemp rope was used in China as far back as 2,800 B.C. Hemp ropes were used for climbing, shipping, fishing, horsemanship and construction in history.(4)
